DOCUMENTARY WORK

Ballroom Writes its Own Story 2022

Student documentary created by students from DePaul University and The Georgian Institute of Public Affairs. This film follows members of the ballroom community in Chicago and the queer community in Tbilisi.

CHIditorid 2022

This Chicago documentary tags along with two teams as they fundraise, prepare their costumes and build their shopping carts in preparation for the weirdest race in Chicago.

My interest in documentary filmmaking sparked half way through college. Once the pandemic hit and school and film work shut down, I got involved in Chicago with a few different mutual aid organizations. I found I really enjoyed this work and community organizing which felt more rewarding than being on film sets. Because narrative building is extremely important in social movements, I thought documentary work would be a good combination of my passions and values.
